Pedestrian Hurt After Being Struck By Vehicle

A pedestrian was taken to the hospital after being hit by a vehicle in South Nashville.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Sunday in the area of 2nd Avenue South near Lafayette Street.

Officials said the male pedestrian was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with potentially life-threatening injuries.

As of Monday morning, he was said to be in stable condition. 

Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department blocked off part of 2nd Avenue South while they conducted their investigation.

They were speaking with witnesses to determine exactly what happened.

According to police, the driver will not be charged.
