A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene near downtown Nashville.
Authorities said the incident happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of Church Street.
According to witnesses, the victim was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk.
Police said he was hit by a white vehicle, which they said was possibly a Kia Optima.
The vehicle fled the scene without stopping, according to reports.
Officials said the pedestrian was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
No further details were available as the investigation was ongoing.
