Woman Struck, Killed South Of Nashville

Posted

A woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in southeastern Davidson County.

The incident was reported around 5:30 a.m. Monday, at the intersection of Dover Glen Drive and Murfreesboro Pike, just west of Bell Road.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 45-year-old Vulet A. Guarge was crossing Murfreesboro Pike in the rain to reach a bus stop when she was struck by a 2010 Subaru Forester driven by 27-year-old Samuel J. Wolf.

She was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, but has since died.

Wolf told police he did not see Gaurge crossing until he had hit her. She was carrying an umbrella at the time, which they said may have kept her from seeing traffic on the road.

She was crossing the street about 30 feet away from a crosswalk. Lanes of Murfreesboro Pike were blocked as a result of the incident. No additional details were known.

Investigators said there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement on the part of either individual.
