A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly wielding an ax at customers at a Nashville area gas station.

The incident was reported Thursday at a Mapco convenience store on Murfreesboro Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they were called to the scene after witnesses said Jim Conaser approached them and began waving an ax.

Conaser was later found at a nearby fire station where he had allegedly stolen the ax earlier in the day.

According to police, Conaser said he was tired of people using his bathroom.

The 53-year-old was booked into the Davidson County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of the sex offender registry, 2nd offense.

At this hour, he was not eligible for bond.
