Police Chase Ends In Crash In Murfreesboro

Officials in Murfreesboro said a police chase ended in a car crash that left at least one person injured.

Authorities said they were in pursuit of a 2005 Hyundai Sonata driven by 22-year-old William Butler, III.

As Butler was traveling on Mercury Boulevard, fleeing from officials with the Murfreesboro Police Department, he crossed MTSU Boulevard, drove through the grass median into oncoming traffic, and hit a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu head-on.

Butler and his passengers, identified as 20-year-old Cory Dickinson, 19-year-old Davon T. Anderson, and 18-year-old Kevin T. Washington, all fled on foot as the vehicle caught on fire.

The driver of the Malibu, identified as 26-year-old Nathan Phillips Gage, was injured. The extent of his injuries was unknown.

Police had not released information on the cause of the pursuit or any charges that may be involved. All suspects were captured.
