Police have launched an investigation after two women were targeted in separate carjackings overnight.
The first incident happened on Bell Road in Antioch shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a man held a woman at knife point and assaulted her as she tried to get out of her car.
The suspect took her vehicle, described as a Honda Civic with tinted windows. She was taken to an area hospital, but is expected to be OK.
Around 1 a.m. Monday, another woman was carjacked at gunpoint in south Nashville. That incident happened near the Prestige Point Apartments on Paragon Mills Road.
Authorities said she was walking from her car to her apartment when two armed men wearing black hoodies approached her and took her vehicle. She was not hurt.
Police said the two carjackings are not related.
