A Sumner County man has been charged with murder in the death of his 29-year-old son.
The incident happened in the 500 block of Lincoln Drive around 3:53 p.m. Sunday.
Officers with the Gallatin Police Department said they found Darrel Lauderdale, Jr. dead at the scene. His father, 55-year-old Darrel Lauderdale, Sr., was detained.
Authorities confirmed the father was arrested and charged with first degree murder.

“Obviously we’ll be looking for any evidence of a physical confrontation as opposed to just an argument that occurred,” said Bill Storment, of the Gallatin Police Department. “We’ve already recovered a weapon.”
The father was booked into the Sumner County Jail. No further details were released.
