A man who allegedly tried to steal beer from a gas station also threatened a security guard with a knife, according to police.
The incident was reported at an Exxon Tiger Market in the 2200 block of Brick Church Pike.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said Daniel Livingston walked into the store and grabbed a can of beer.
Livingston walked up to the counter, at which point the clerk noticed a 24-ounce can of Bud Light Strawberry Margarita fall from his jacket.
The clerk advised him that he would have to pay for both cans, or else he would call police.
Livingston reportedly did not have enough cash. Police said he then tried to leave the store and a security guard followed him.
When the guard approached his vehicle, Livingston allegedly pulled out a knife.
Officers were later able to track Livingston down at his home on Old Matthews Road. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
