A man has been charged with criminal homicide after his girlfriend was fatally shot inside a West Nashville home.
The incident was reported around 9:40 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Windsor Drive.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 60-year-old Laura L. Jones was found dead after suffering at least one gunshot wound to her head.

The suspect, identified as 61-year-old Charles Wilburn Taylor, was waiting in the driveway when officers arrived. He had blood on his clothes and body, according to reports.
According to detectives, the man called his brother-in-law and confessed to the crime saying, "I just blew my girlfriend's head off." That person then called police.
Taylor was taken into custody. Police said they recovered a shotgun believed to be the weapon Taylor used.
Taylor and Jones had been together for more than a decade.
Authorities said the incident was a domestic issue, and no threat to the greater public, Police said Taylor had no prior history of domestic violence, but did have several alcohol offenses.
The motive for the murder remained under investigation. Taylor was being held in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
