Police have asked the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted for allegedly robbing a grocery store in Smyrna.
The incident was reported Sunday night at a Food Lion on Old Nashville Highway.
Officials with Smyrna Police said the suspect went up to the customer service desk and apparently made a call.
When the phone rang, the caller said, “I need you to put the money in a bag. This is a robbery.”
Police said the man pulled a handgun and threatened to shoot the employee. That person threw the money bag at the robber, and the suspect fled on foot.
He was also seen on the store’s surveillance cameras.
