NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Police in Nashville are asking for help identifying a man who robbed a grocery store near Hillsboro Village.

Detectives with Metropolitan Nashville Police Department’s Midtown Hills Precinct said the robbery happened Sunday night at the Harris Teeter at 2201 21st Avenue South.

Around 7:30 p.m., the robber approached the customer service counter and asked for cigarettes and lottery tickets.

When the employee returned with the items, police said the man demanded cash from the register. The robber allegedly told the employee he had a gun in his pocket, but did not display it.

He then fled on foot with cash.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
