Reward Offered For Arrest In 2009 Murder

A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a man wanted for murder.

Officials with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Nashville Field Division, Springfield Police Department, and Crime Stoppers announced the reward of up to a $7,500 Friday.

They said they’re searching for Ralphael Leavell who’s wanted in connection to the murder of Richard McCreary.

Authorities said Leavell has been charged with one count of the use of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and one count of conspiracy to commit a Hobbs Act robbery. 

The murder happened December 22, 2009 in the 2300 block of South Main Street in Springfield.

Police said they found McCreary dead on the front porch of a home.
