The lockdown at three Lebanon-area schools has been lifted after a search for a burglary suspect in the area.

Officials with the Lebanon Police Department said the suspect was taken into custody after a foot pursuit Tuesday morning.

The chase had apparently originated from a vehicle burglary.

Walter J. Baird Middle, Coles Ferry Elementary and Castle Heights Elementary were placed on lockdown while police searched the area.

The schools have since reopened.

The suspect’s name was not available.
