HICKMAN COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities are searching for a man that has been missing since he was allegedly caught trying to infiltrate a state prison late last year in Hickman County.
The Hickman County Sheriff's Office said they have opened a missing persons investigation on 39-year-old Ramsey Lamont Jacobs.
On December 9, 2013, agents with the Tennessee Department of Correction had set up surveillance at Turney Center Industrial Complex in Coble after receiving information that Jacobs had been smuggling contraband into the prison. After catching Jacobs trying to breach the perimeter, they began chasing him on foot.
They eventually lost contact with him near the Duck River, and an extensive search followed using cell phone data, cadaver search dogs, and side scanner sonar.
Officials said they had no definitive proof Jacobs died in the River, and he remains at large.
At present, no charges have been filed against Jacobs by TDOC.
Anyone with information was asked to call Hickman County Sheriff's Office at (931)729-6143.
