Officials in Montgomery County have been searching for a man in the Red River.

Reports stated the incident began around 10:24 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of North Riverside Drive.

Authorities said two men were in a fight, and one of the men allegedly fell into the river.

Witnesses said security attempted to break up the fight in the parking lot when a 24-year-old man involved in the fight became belligerent toward the security guards.

That’s when he reportedly headed toward the water and fell into a large puddle as he challenged bar staff to a fight.

According to reports, the man stood up, but then went into the fast moving water of the Red River.

Emergency crews searched for him along the river at several different locations, but were unsuccessful in finding him.

The search ended Friday night due to darkness and dangerous conditions on the river, but it resumed Saturday morning and throughout the weekend.

Sunday evening, authorities said they had not found the man. They confirmed the search had been scheduled to resume at 7 a.m. Monday.

Further details were not immediately available as the search and investigation continued.
