A fugitive sex offender who was on the run for 18 months has been arrested after he was discovered at a day care.

Officials with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service said they captured 38-year-old Christopher Dlubac after tracing him to a home in the 1400 block of Buchanon Drive.

He was wanted by the Tennessee Department of Corrections and the Clarksville Police Department for sex offender violation, probation violation, and theft of property.

Deputies said they found a day care, Vanessa’s Little Ones Childcare, operating out of the home where Dlubac was discovered.

The day care was providing services for seven children. Four of those children were there when Dlubac was taken into custody.

Authorities confirmed Dlubac faced additional charges for three violations of the sex offender registry: failure to report current address, residing with minor children, and being present at a day care.

He was also charged with simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Dlubac’s bond was set at $105,000.

Authorities said they were investigating the operator of the day care and added the investigation remained ongoing.

Anyone who has had any contact with Vanessa’s Little Ones Childcare has been asked to call Investigator Jeffery Morlock at 931-648-0611, ext. 13412 or at 931-320-1883.
