Shots were fired in Clarksville after a fire marshal tried to shut down a party that had more than 500 people.

The incident happened at the Cumberland Room around 11 p.m. Saturday.

Organizers told Montgomery County Sheriff's Office deputies more than 400 people were inside the event venue and there were another 100 people outside, which was far more than the 320 people the space was designed and allowed to hold.

Fortunately, no one was hurt when the shots were fired.

Witnesses told police they saw which vehicle the shots came from, but at last word, police had not made any arrests.
