An investigation got underway overnight after several shots were fired into a west Nashville home with a mother and child inside. Minutes later, a gunshot victim showed up at an area hospital.
According to officials with Metro Nashville Police, a man said he was walking in the area of Clifton Avenue and 40th Avenue North when he heard gunshots.
However, the victim said he didn't see who shot him.
The victim told officers he called a friend and asked him to take him to TriStar Centennial Medical Center.
About 10 minutes earlier, shots were fired into a home on Felicia Street.
Police said a mother and son were inside the home when the gunfire erupted. Neither of them was injured.
There was no suspect information at this time. However, police believe the incidents are connected.
Investigators said the gunshot victim arrived at the hospital in a car similar to the one seen on a surveillance video on Felicia Street.
