A Berry Hill store hosted a special holiday open house that allowed customers to shop for a good cause.

"SmART Supplies" has been selling all kinds of arts and crafts supplies. All of the 700 items in the store have been donated.

During Saturday's basket sale, customers could load up a shopping basket for just $20.

An artist was also on hand making custom holiday cards.

People said the event has helped spread the word on how the store helps people in the community.

“I think they get a general knowledge of who we we are,” said Laurel Sprague, retail manager. “We get a lot of new customers when we have open houses. We do a lot of sharing. They can see what it is we are about, which is helping adults with intellectual disabilities.”

All of the proceeds from "SmART!" benefit Progress Inc. programs that help adults living with intellectual disabilities.
