A 50-year-old woman has been charged with kidnapping a 3-month-old baby in White County.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said Pamala Jean Cox is accused of kidnapping the baby from a vehicle at a laundromat in Sparta.
The child’s mother told police said left her son in the car while getting laundry and came back to find him missing.
Less than two hours later, the child was found in a shopping cart at an area Walmart. A shopper reportedly found the child covered in clothing.
The infant was not hurt.
Cox was later identified as a suspect and was arrested Wednesday morning. She was charged with one count of especially aggravated kidnapping.
She was booked into the White County Jail and held on a $200,000 bond.
