A suspect has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in south Nashville.
According to an affidavit from Metro Nashville Police, Marvin Campos was stabbed in the back during an attack near Murfreesboro Road and Thompson Lane on March 26.
He had reportedly gotten into an argument with a man, later identified as Aristoteles Aleman, inside a nearby bar earlier in the night.
Police said Campos and his wife left the bar and the victim was later approached Aleman near a laundromat.
Campos was stabbed in the back during the incident. He later died as a result of his injuries.
The attack was reportedly captured on the business’ surveillance video.
On Thursday, police said Aleman was identified as a suspect, and was trying to flee to Texas and Mexico.
After seeing a photo lineup, police said Campos’ widow later identified Aleman as the person who fought with her husband at the bar.
Detectives found him at an apartment and questioned him. They said he gave answers that implicated himself in the crime.
According to police documents, the jacket and shoes worn at the time of the stabbing were found inside a living room.
Aleman was taken into custody and charged with criminal homicide.
