The man accused of shooting a former Metro Nashville councilman has been extradited back to Tennessee.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 20-year-old Brandon Hunt-Clark was brought back to Nashville from Mississippi on Tuesday.

Hunt-Clark has been charged with shooting then Metro Councilman Loniel Greene Jr. in West Nashville back in November.

Greene, who served District 1, was shot three times near a Marathon gas station on Oceola Avenue.

Greene said he followed Hunt-Clark and the second individual because he thought he recognized one of them as a relative. Greene later resigned from council amid an investigation by the District Attorney’s office.

Hunt-Clark was arrested a month later in Grenada located about 100 miles south of Memphis, on a charge of armed robbery.

According to police, a grand jury there recently declined to indict Hunt-Clark, clearing the way for his return.
