A man has been taken into custody following a standoff in Springfield.
The incident happened Saturday afternoon at a home on Richard Street.
According to authorities, the suspect went into the home where he lived and threatened to kill a woman and children.
The woman and her children were able to run out of the house, and the suspect stayed inside with a gun.
Officials said they were able to convince the suspect to come out and surrender after about 45 minutes to an hour.
He was taken into custody without further incident. No word had been released on possible charges he would face.
No identities were released as the investigation remained ongoing.
