A suspect was able to smash his way into a convenience store north of Nashville and steal thousands of dollars in cigarettes overnight.

Metro Nashville Police officials said the incident happened around 1:15 a.m. Tuesday, at a Victory Fuels gas station at Whites Creek Pike and West Trinity Lane.

Surveillance video from inside the store shows the suspect smashing through the front door with a brick. He was seen wearing a grey hoodie, tan pants and white shoes.

Within seconds, he ran away from the scene and drove off in a white sedan with chrome wheels.

An employee of the store said he stole about $3,000 worth of cigarettes.

Officers brought in their K-9 to try and track down a scent.

The store was closed at the time, so no one was inside or got hurt.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
