A suspect linked to a shooting in Maury County was injured after being shot by a police officer during a pursuit.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation officials said the incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, near the intersection of Highway 7 and Old Highway 7 near Witherspoon Road in Columbia.
The suspect, identified as Jerry Patton, had reportedly been involved in a shooting earlier in Mount Pleasant.

Authorities said Patton shot his roommate, Daniel Beck, in both legs, then stole his vehicle and fled the scene on South Locust Street.
That vehicle was later spotted at a convenience store on James Campbell Boulevard in Columbia.
When an officer pulled up to the car to make the arrest, Patton allegedly rammed the cruiser and took off.
A pursuit ensued and Patton eventually got boxed in at a dead end. In an attempt to escape, authorities said he again rammed a police car.
At that point, the officer opened fire on the suspect and hit him in the leg.
