Authorities have confirmed that embattled Rutherford County Sheriff Robert Arnold is now the subject of a new investigation.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed in a statement to NewsChannel 5 that the agency is investigating the report and response of a domestic complaint at Arnold’s home earlier this week.
Arnold is on pre-trial release before he goes to court next February on corruption charges.
If he’s linked to a domestic incident, he could be sent to jail until trial, according to NewsChannel 5 reporter Nick Beres.
Arnold was at federal court in Nashville on Wednesday to answer questions. However, he declined to comment to the media, as did the U.S. attorney.
If Arnold goes to jail for violating his release terms he could be ousted as sheriff.
