Teen Shot In Stomach In North Nashville

A teenager was injured overnight in a north Nashville neighborhood after being shot in the stomach with a shotgun.

The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday on Meadow Hills Drive.

Specific details of the shooting were limited.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said a 19-year-old man was shot and called 911.

He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. His name was not known.

The teen was apparently shot outside of his grandmother’s house. At least one shell casing was found in the street.

Neighbors described the area as being a quiet neighborhood, made up mostly of elderly residents.

No suspect information was known. According to investigators, the victim was not cooperating with detectives.  

This was the fourth person to be injured in a shooting involving a shotgun within the past 24-hours.
