Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department have increased police presence for the tens of thousands of people expected to be in downtown Nashville.
Several major events in downtown Nashville included the Tennessee State University homecoming parade and game, Adele's concert at Bridgestone Arena, and the Chris Stapleton concert at Ascend Amphitheater.
The Central Precinct has maintained a strong presence of police by including more patrol officers, two shifts of Flex officers, motorcycle officers, and officers on horseback.
"I look at it as one big party, even from the interstate to here it's one big celebration," Keena Young, a TSU tailgater, told NewsChannel 5.
Despite the long lines to get into venues, many say it is worth it.
"I can't wait to see Adele, it's going to be amazing and awesome, and we're so lucky we get in," Jennifer Porter, a Virgina visitor, said.
Streets were expected to be busy until Sunday with the Tennessee Titans hosting the Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium. The Woodland Street Bridge will be closed to traffic by 9 am. Sunday and then open only to pedestrians and shuttle buses.
Adele will also play her second concert at Bridgestone Arena on Sunday.
Anyone visiting downtown has been urged to be mindful and arrive early to find parking.
