A trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol has been charged with assault in an alleged domestic dispute with his wife.
Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said they began investigating Shane Roberts on Tuesday after he pointed a THP-issued firearm at his wife during a dispute.
The alleged incident happened Monday at their Lebanon home.
He was arrested the following night and charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Roberts was booked into the Wilson County Jail on $5,000 bond.
