A man has been charged in connection with a triple shooting that injured three people, including his ex-girlfriend.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. Monday in a parking lot near the Taco Bell on Nolensville Pike.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 29-year-old Michael Moreno approached three people who were sitting in a car and fired into the vehicle.

He was reportedly armed with a shotgun.

Two men, ages 29 and 30, were shot in the chest and walked up to Taco Bell to call for help.

They were both taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and have life-threatening injuries.

The third victim, whom police said is his 21-year-old ex-girlfriend, got a ride to Southern Hills Medical Center by someone driving a white Excursion.

She had been shot in the stomach and was later transferred to TriStar Skyline Medical Center.

Police began looking for the driver of the white Excursion as a vehicle and person of interest.

Moreno was later pulled over on Interstate 65 in Madison and taken into custody. Police said he confessed to the shooting.
