Posted

Hundreds of Turkeys were fried Tuesday morning at the annual Tracy Lawrence Turkey Fry.

Country star Tracy Lawrence and a few of his friends got an early start on the holiday by frying up the Thanksgiving turkeys.

Volunteers dipped more than 500 turkeys into the hot oil, and all of them will be used at the Nashville Rescue Mission.

This was the event’s 10th year of giving back to the community.

Volunteers fried more than 500 turkeys for the Nashville Rescue Mission to help feed people in need.

Organizers said the event is tiring but is more than worth it to help feed someone in need.

"You’re on your feet all day. It's a big change of what my normal day is day to day. But this is a great event I take a lot of pride in it this is a very unique event," said Tracy Lawrence.

Over the last ten years, the turkey fry has provided more than 65,000 meals.
