TSU Planning Development Project

Posted

Tennessee State University is planning an 84-acre development project along the Cumberland River.

The Cumberland City at TSU project will include facilities including restaurants, retail stores, a hotel, a library and research centers.

TSU President Glenda Glover shared the concept at a lunch gathering last week with community members and business leaders.

Metropolitan Council Member Ed Kindall said the project will be a major benefit for the community and the university. He says funding has been secured for a small portion of the project and additional money is expected to be acquired from private sources and the state.

TSU's assistant vice president for public relations and communications Kelli Sharpe said the project will be built in phases. She says there's no definite completion date.
