Newly released surveillance video shows the moment an armed robber got away with a cash register after allegedly threatening the clerk with a box cutter.

The incident happened at a Twice Daily Shell gas station at Royal Oaks Boulevard and Oak Meadow Drive just after midnight Saturday.

Officials with Franklin Police released video from inside the store overnight Tuesday.

In the footage, the suspect can be seen jumping over the counter and demanding cash. Instead of pulling money out of the drawer, the suspect grabbed the entire register and took off.

Officers think he also had a get-away car near that location.

The suspect used a grey jacket to hide his face but the clerk got a good look at him.

He was described as a white man, about 5'6'' tall, weighing around 150 pounds. He was wearing a gray hoodie and had a long, skinny face, dirty blonde hair, and a reddish brown goatee.

Franklin Police said they're offering up to a $1,000 reward for information that can lead to the arrest of the person in the surveillance image. Anyone with information has been urged to call Franklin Crime Stoppers at 615-794-4000.
