Police have been searching for the suspect who robbed a local Waffle House.

Authorities said the incident happened Sunday morning at the Waffle House in the 2700 block of McGavock Pike.

According to reports, a man went inside the restaurant and told everyone to get on the ground. He was armed with a black compact handgun.

The man allegedly told employees to let him in the safe, but when they said they couldn’t get in, he took the drawer from the cash register.

Officials tracked his scent after he fled from the scene, but they lost it. Authorities said they believe he got into a car.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 30’s, standing around 5’8’’ tall. He was wearing a long sleeve dark blue shirt, navy baseball cap (Seattle Seahawks), light blue painters mask, and blue surgical gloves.

Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
