A large water main break has closed a portion of Highway 31 West in Millersville.
The first call came in shortly after 4 a.m. Thursday.
Officials with Millersville Police said the break happened between Pole Hill Road and C Smith Street.
It’s not yet known what caused the incident.
Traffic on Highway 31, also known as the Louisville Highway, was being diverted onto C Smith Street.
Crews were seen putting brine onto the roadway to help prevent any freezing as temperatures dipped into the low 20s.
According to police, the break has caused water outages in the area.
