Witness Sought For Interview In Fatal Crash

Posted

Police have requested the public’s help with finding a witness to a fatal crash.

The wreck happened March 2 when two vehicles collided on Clarksville Pike.

Authorities with the Metro Nashville Police Department said the crash claimed the life of 65-year-old Mary Davis of Joelton.

Officials have been working to identify a witness who possibly left the scene.

Davis was driving an Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera near Briley Parkway when another driver, identified as 46-year-old William Woolverton, crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit Davis’ vehicle.

According to Woolverton, another vehicle caused him to lose control.

Davis was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she passed away from her injuries.

Multiple witnesses, including Woolverton, remained at the scene, but investigators said they would like to interview a middle-aged white man who was driving a black pickup truck.

According to reports, that driver initially stopped but left the scene before police arrived.

Anyone with information on this witness has been urged to call the Traffic Unit at 615-862-7738 or email Officer Erika Bowden by clicking here.
