A woman has been taken into custody in connection with an arson from November 2015.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said six people were inside a residence in the 500 block of Newton Avenue when someone set fire to the carport.

Firefighters were able to safely get them out and extinguish the flames. However, the blaze destroyed two vehicles and severely damaged the home.

Police said Crystal Shadowens was taken into custody Thursday night and charged with aggravated arson.

According to an affidavit, Shadowens had a dispute with her husband and sent threatening phone calls and text messages before the fire occurred.

There was no immediate word as to what she allegedly used to start the fire.

She was booked into the Davidson County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
