A woman received minor injuries after she was attacked near the Edgehill Branch of the Nashville Public Library.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the woman was taking a ride-sharing service home just before 3 a.m. Friday.
At some point, she got into a dispute with the driver and got out of the car on 12th Avenue South to walk home.
When she got near the library, police said a man attacked her.
She was able to fight him off but he got away with her cellphone. She was taken to an area hospital and treated for minor injuries.
No suspect description was known at this time.
