A Madison woman has been indicted in connection with the death of her 9-month-old son back in 2014.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 34-year-old Brandy Stewart was taken into custody late Tuesday night at her residence on Berkley Drive.
She's been indicted on charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child neglect in the death of her son, Estebon Morales.
Police said the boy died in May 2014 after being taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center. He was unresponsive and pronounced dead shortly after arriving by private vehicle.
According to police, Stewart was present, but was not able to provide officers with any information due to alleged drug impairment.
Detectives said an investigation revealed that her impairment while caring for Estebon was the contributing factor to his death.
She was being held in lieu of $150,000 bond.
