Women from across Nashville came together in Centennial Park to mark Women's Equality Day.
Five suffragists were memorialized on Saturday. They worked to make Tennessee the last state needed to ratify the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote.
There was a wreath laying at the suffrage monument at the park. Mayor Megan Barry also spoke during the event.
The Suffrage Monument Board was joined by the League of Women Voters, the Parthenon Conservancy, and the Tennessee Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution for the event.
