People waited in line at the property assessment office for hours in hopes of participating in the Property Tax Freeze Program.
For several hours, the line wrapped around the Howard Office building and most people were waiting in line for about three hours.
The program only freezes your property's tax amount, and will keep the value at the current market value so that when the property is sold or comes out from under the tax freeze, its current value is reflected.
The assessor of property office has been working to let people know that this program is available.
If you missed the deadline, you can apply in October.
