An iconic Nashville restaurant will be closing its doors after more than six decades, to make way for new development on Dickerson Pike.
The owner of Charlie Bob's Restaurant said he made the decision to sell his property to make way for a new apartment complex.
Michael Douglas said while he's sad to see his own restaurant go, he's excited to see the new apartments in the Dickerson area.
He said he hopes it will spur other development along the road.
"That's the exciting part about me," Douglas said. "I wanted to be part of the change and part of the improvement, and this is going to be a big part."
Sunday will be the last day Charlie Bobs is open. The staff there says there will be a big party late into the night.
