MADISON, Tenn. – Police said they are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with homicide in Northern Davidson County.

Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said a warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Darius Montez Tate in connection with the shooting death of Jamahl Saunders.

Police said Saunders was shot and killed in the 1200 block of Berwick Trail in Madison on February 10. They said he was unintentionally killed during gun fire on two men seated in a car parked on the street.

The suspect has been indicted on charges of reckless homicide and two counts of attempted first-degree murder for allegedly shooting at two men in the car.

According to investigators, all four of the parties involved are convicted felons. At the time of Saunders' death, police said Tate was serving a four-year probated sentence received just last July for two felony cocaine convictions.

Anyone seeing Darius Tate or knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact the Emergency Communications Center at 862-8600.
