GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A woman is confirmed dead after the I-65 crash that caused the closure of southbound lanes at mile marker 94, near Vietnam Veterans Blvd.
Goodlettsville police said the woman - who may have been driving recklessly - crashed her vehicle into a wall on I-65 North around 6 a.m. Saturday.
After crashing, the woman got out of her car and left it on the shoulder. She then began to run on foot, jumping over the median wall and running north in the southbound lanes.
She was struck by a car in the middle of the interstate, where she died. The driver who hit her stopped immediately.
Goodlettsville police found the driver's side mirror of a silver Honda at the scene.
The driver of the silver Honda is not considered a suspect, but police are hoping to speak with them, or anybody who may have information on this crash. If you do, they have asked that you call them at (615) 851-5111.
The crash had the interstate near mile marker 94 shut down for several hours as Goodlettsville police investigated. The interstate is now clear.
