COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Putnam County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brian Allen Hodges after they say he tried to hire someone to kill Putnam County Sheriff’s Deputy John Frazier, who is married to Hodges' mother.
Sheriff's officials say that on Nov. 18, the Criminal Investigation Division learned Hodges was trying to hire someone to kill Deputy Frazier. Within the next days, Hodges met with an undercover agent, who he thought was a hitman.
That's when investigators say they learned the threat against Deputy Frazier was real. Hodges agreed to pay the undercover agent $10,000 to have Frazier, his stepfather, killed.
Deputies arrested Hodges Friday, Nov. 20. He's is being held without bond, and his court date is set for November 23.
Hodges has previous arrests which include drug charges (methamphetamine), domestic assaults, and burglaries.
