Man accused of shooting ex-girlfriend in Murfreesboro now in custody

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend on July 4th is now in custody.

Murfreesboro police say 26-year-old Brandon Francis turned himself in on Saturday. He’s facing charges of attempted first-degree murder.

The shooting happened on Battle Avenue at 7:15 a.m. Police say Francis shot his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend and then left the scene.

Investigators say the victim is in the hospital in critical condition.

Francis was booked at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center on a $350,000 bond.
