MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A man has been accused of sexually assaulting a Rutherford County hotel clerk over the weekend.
The alleged incident happened Sunday, at the Vista Inn located on Westgate Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
According to officials with Murfreesboro police, the ordeal began when Shawn Jones walked into the lobby and made sexual advances at the clerk.
The woman locked herself in a back office and called 911.
Investigators said Jones was able to unlock the doors and began attacking the victim, when a co-worker ran in and was able to intervene.
Jones was arrested and booked on several charges including, kidnapping and aggravated sexual battery.
