A man was apprehended Wednesday morning after disrupting traffic along Interstate 24 in Rutherford County.
Officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said the man was walking on the interstate and at one point, crossed over in lanes of traffic.
A deputy tried to stop him but he kept walking. The incident was captured on cell phone video and posted to social media.
A medic unit and another detective stopped by to help and were eventually able to defuse the situation.
He was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for a mental evaluation. His name was not released. It’s unclear if he faces any charges.
