WAVERLY, Tenn. (WTVF) — A man wanted in Humphreys County for a carjacking has been arrested.
The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office said John Benchoff (AKA John Butler) is wanted for carjacking, evading arrest and felon in possession of firearm.
Benchoff was being given a ride when deputies attempted to stop the car. Investigators said Benchoff used the machete to force the driver from the car in order to escape.
He was taken into customer on Tuesday afternoon in Waverly.
