A Columbia man has been charged with second degree murder following the stabbing death of a 26-year-old.
The stabbing happened around 9 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Riggins Row in Columbia.
Authorities said 26-year-old Coleson L. Sellars and 26-year-old Joshua E. Gibson got into a physical fight.
Reports stated Gibson allegedly stabbed Sellars during the fight. Police arrived and rendered aid until emergency crews got to the scene.
Sellars was taken to Maury Regional Medical Center where he died.
Gibson was charged with second degree murder and aggravated assault resulting in death. He was being held in the Maury County Jail. The investigation remained ongoing.
